Shri Balaji Seva Samiti

About Us

Bringing together the organisation of Kanpur's sacred festivals and sustained welfare work for the vulnerable.

Who We Are

Shri Balaji Seva Samiti is a registered seva samiti based in Ashok Nagar, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. We bring together two strands of community life that are often kept apart: the organisation of Kanpur's sacred festivals, and sustained, hands-on welfare work for the poor, the elderly, the widowed, the disabled and the destitute.

We believe faith and service are not separate callings — they are the same calling. The same spirit that brings thousands together for Ganesh Mahotsav and Devi Jagran is the spirit we carry into orphanages, widow ashrams, old-age homes and disaster-relief camps through the rest of the year.

Our Mission

To provide free, public-spirited service — mobilising financial support and cooperation from every section of society, from individual citizens to institutions and businesses — to uplift the weak and the helpless.

We are committed to moving the poor, the disabled and the destitute toward self-reliance, ensuring they have access to food, medicine, clothing and the means to earn a livelihood.

Our Vision

A community where every citizen — regardless of ability, age or circumstance — has access to dignity, support and opportunity. We work toward this by mobilising support for welfare programmes spanning environmental protection, public health, women's empowerment and social reform, and by building lasting institutions that serve the public for generations to come.

Our Objectives

1

Organising and managing the annual Ganesh Mahotsav along with other cultural and religious programmes.

2

Awakening social, cultural, educational and religious consciousness among the people of our community.

3

Organising free medical camps covering eye care, family-planning awareness, polio prevention, and maternal and child welfare.

4

Providing relief to people affected by natural disasters — food, medicine, clothing and other essentials, free of cost.

5

Establishing and operating free hospitals and clinics, orphanages, widow ashrams, old-age homes, and childcare homes.

6

Promoting programmes for environmental protection, de-addiction, tree plantation and social forestry.
